Mark Consuelos has gotten used to the praise from Live with Kelly and Mark‘s “Stump Mark” game, and according to Kelly Ripa, the bit has even influenced him at home.
During this morning’s round of the daytime talk show’s trademark game, Consuelos introduced contestant Christina McQueen from Boardman, Ohio, who wrote that she wanted to stump him “because it will be the most exciting part of her day.”
Ripa chimed in, “Oh, Christina. I hope your day improves drastically.”
Consuelos later issued the instructions to McQueen, explaining that he has 60 seconds to determine which one of her two statements is true.
“And if you stump me, you’ll win this,” he added, as pictures of a Live mug and “I Stumped Mark” t-shirt were displayed on screen. Consuelos remarked, “You know, I actually pay attention to what she’s gonna win. It’s really ridiculous.”
After Ripa admitted that they “make such a big deal” out of the potential prizes for the segment, Consuelos told McQueen that he was “glad [she] care[s].” However, Ripa then dished on how the game has apparently impacted Consuelos’ behavior at home.
“This is why you want constant praise at home,” she teased.
After Consuelos asked what she meant by that, Ripa quipped, “He’s like, ‘I put the lid on the yogurt.’ And I’m like, ‘OK…’ But he expects, like, applause.”
Consuelos replied, “And I get none.”
