The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for their Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Cheifs will look to move to 2-0, and they’ll look to do so with the help of their star running back, Isiah Pacheco.

Pacheco is expected to be out there and ready to roll; however, he will be $5,582 less wealthy. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero shared that the NFL has fined Pacheco for an unnecessary roughness splay. Here’s the play he was fined for.

Pelissero said that the NFL is cracking down on lowering the head to initiate a contract. No flag was thrown on that play.
That play occurred in the third quarter of last Thursday’s Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, in which the Chiefs came out on top, 27-20.
With Week 2 now on the horizon and with Pacheco having learned his lesson, he and the Chiefs will look to play a much cleaner game on Sunday and not only come away with the win but also avoid a potential fine from the league.
Pacheco isn’t the only one who received a fine on Saturday. Kansas City is being fined $100,000 as an organization for tight end Peyton Hendershot shoving Baltimore linebacker Roquan Smith.
Hendershot is being fined $5,472 for his actions but is appealing his fine. Many fines have been dished out, head to Newsweek Sports for the coverage.
Hendershot is in his first year with the Chiefs after being traded from the Dallas Cowboys in late Aug. 2024. Prior to his time in Kansas City, he was an undrafted free agent from the 2022 NFL Draft from Indiana University.
Hendershot has tallied 15 receptions for 141 yards and two touchdowns in his two-year career.
As for Pacheco, he was spectacular in his 2024 debut. In the victory, Pacheco tallied 15 carries for 45 yards and one touchdown and collected two receptions for 33 yards.
The former seventh-round pick from Rutgers has established himself as one of the premier backs in the NFL. Through two NFL seasons, Pacheco is already a two-time Super Bowl champion and has recorded 390 rush attempts for 1,810 yards, 13 touchdowns, and averages 4.6 yards per carry through 32 games.
In his rookie season, Pacheco finished in the top 10 of AP Offensive Rookie of the Year voting after recording five touchdowns, 830 rush yards, and 960 total scrimmage yards.
Pacheco and the Chiefs will look to take advantage of the Bengals defense, which struggled mightily against the run game in their loss last week to the Patriots.
