Business Insider is expected to name Jamie Heller, the business editor of The Wall Street Journal, to lead its newsroom as its next editor in chief, according to two people familiar with the appointment.
Ms. Heller has led some of The Journal’s most important coverage over a two-decade career at the newspaper. Originally an Ivy League-educated lawyer, she soon switched to journalism. Most recently she was The Journal’s business editor, with oversight over the news organization’s global coverage of technology, media, energy and large consumer companies, among other areas.
Ms. Heller earlier served as The Journal’s deals editor, overseeing coverage of mergers and acquisitions, and deputy of its finance section.
Business Insider, a news site owned by German media conglomerate Axel Springer, has been looking for a new editor in chief since Nicholas Carlson left the position earlier this year.
Ms. Heller did not respond to requests for comment.
