Following a dramatic The Bachelorette Season 21 finale which saw star Jenn Tran in tears after having to relive her proposal to Devin Strader, Tran and others are speaking out about the events on TikTok.
For those who are just catching up, Strader apparently broke off his engagement to Tran with a phone call back in July then ghosted her. You can read more about that and how the producers of the show really put Jenn’s troubles on display during the finale here.
Tran, however, also mentioned former The Bachelor contestant Maria Georgas as being involved in the breakup saga to some extent, and Georgas posted a video to TikTok to set te record straight.
“Last night was hard to watch, and my heart goes out to Jenn,â Maria began, referring to the After the Final Rose episode, in which it was revealed how Jenn and Devin’s relationship ended. âI canât speak on her relationship. The only two people who can speak on her relationship are her and Devin.â
She continued, âIâm over coming to defense for my character ⦠I know who I am and my friends and family know who I am. The fact that I had you guys watch me through a screen and still be able to see how real I was, I have no words. I understand Jenn having to speak up about it â say your piece, girlfriend, I respect it. I just think without the full context, it leads people to believe a whole different narrative.â
“Yes, Devin followed me on Instagram,â she added. âI donât pay attention to who follows me and who doesnât. I had no clue about that, until people brought it to my attention. I didnât know. And by that time, when I found out, he had unfollowed. Let me clear the air on something. I have never met Devin before.â
Put it to REST.
During the finale, Jenn asked Devin why he followed Maria on Instagram the morning after their split. She also accused him of going âclubbingâ with fellow contestant Jeremy Simons, which she says demonstrated to her that he clearly wasn’t upset over their breakup.
“I never went clubbing out with him,â Maria claimed. âHe did his own thing. Did I go out with Jeremy â a night with friends, a bunch of us together? Yes, I did.â
She noted that sheâs âmeeting people through friendsâ and âthatâs very normal,â insisting that she would ânot apologizeâ for hanging out with any of the stars.
“I canât control who follows who,â she continued. âBut what I can control is what I do about it. And what Iâm doing is not following back. And I never followed back. Now seeing how things transpired, I will never follow that man. And people knew that. So the fact that this whole thing has come out now, and the story has changed, is beyond me. I have nothing to do with the ending of the relationship. Like I said, that is on them to speak about.â
âMy character, my innocence, my peace is important to me. And I will not fâk that up for no one,â she concluded. âThis is the last thing I want. Letâs just put it to rest.â
In the meantime, Jenn posted a video to TikTok of herself on a plane with screen text: “One minute I’m crying over some boy who broke my heart and the next min I’m on a plane to go on dancing with the stars.” She is of course speaking about her casting in the forthcoming 33rd season of Dancing With The Stars.
