EXCLUSIVE: Prime Video is looking to turn another flagship drama series into a franchise. A spinoff from Reacher is on fast-track development at the streamer and poised for a greenlight, sources tell Deadline.
Titled Neagley, I hear the offshoot would center on Maria Sten‘s fan favorite character Frances Neagley, a corporate security professional and former military colleague of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit.
Reacher executive producer and showrunner Nick Santora, who developed the mothership series based on Lee Child’s books, has teamed with Nicholas Wootton, with whom he previously worked on Prison Break, to develop, executive produce and co-showrun Neagley, I hear. Like Reacher, the offshoot is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance Television, along with CBS Studios, which recently absorbed original co-producer Paramount TV Studios’ slate.
In addition to Santora and Wootton, Neagley is executive produced by Lee Child, Don Granger, and Lisa Kussner with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television. Carolyn Harris, Kenny Madrid, Niko Fernandez will oversee the project for Skydance. Reps for Prime Video and the studios declined comment.

Frances Neagley was introduced in Season 1 of Reacher, based on Child’s The Killing Floor novel, in which the character does not appear. She played an integral part in Season 2 based on a book in which Neagley is a main character, Bad Luck and Trouble, emerging as Reacher’s sidekick he can bounce ideas off.
Reacher and Neagley have become such a popular on-screen duo that when Prime Video revealed that Season 3 would be based on Child’s Persuader, another book that Neagley doesn’t show up in, the streamer made a point to announce that Sten would be back reprising her role alongside Ritchson.
In Season 3, which was greenlighted last December, ahead of the series’ Season 2 premiere, veteran military police investigator Jack Reacher (Ritchson) must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past.
Reacher Season 2 was the #1 title on Prime Video worldwide across both series and movies during its premiere weekend (based on viewership).
With its pending universe expansion, Reacher is poised to join Prime Video’s flagship drama, The Boys, which has spawned four other series to date. The streamer also ordered a prequel to Terminal List alongside the popular mothership Chris Pratt series, and also has explored a Jack Ryan spinoff.
In addition to Reacher and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Skydance Television has produced several other series with Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video, including the upcoming Cross and the recently announced The Runarounds, an untitled action-adventure series starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, and a docuseries on the Idaho Murders.
