Meghan McCain alleges she’s been approached to appear on Dancing with the Stars but has turned down the offers.
The former The View co-host revealed she has been asked on three occasions to be a contestant on the dancing competition but has declined the invites.
“I’ve been asked to do Dancing With the Stars three times, and I said no each time, because I just don’t want to publicly humiliate myself. I’m a terrible dancer and I don’t do reality TV,” McCain said on her podcast Citizen McCain. “The amount of reality TV I’ve been asked to do would blow your mind. I’m always like, what about my personality says I’d be good on these kind of platforms? I’m pretty shy in person. I’d be awful.”
McCain said that she was also invited to appear on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and another competition series. The political commentator said that another reason she has not wanted to do reality TV is her political aspirations.

“I do not do reality TV, because there’s still a tiny little window in my life that I want to run for office at some point, and you can’t do both. You just can’t. It’s just not serious,” she said. “Come to me if I’m starving in the street and I’ve had some financial issues, but, I’m fine.”
McCain’s remarks about being offered Dancing with the Stars come as the ABC competition unveiled its latest lineup for Season 33. The cast of the new season premiering Tuesday, September 17, includes The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks, Tori Spelling, Eric Roberts, Reginald VelJohnson, and athlete Ilona Maher, among many others.
