Week 1 of the NFL season is upon us, and the excitement is palpable. Teams are ready to showcase their prowess and show that a new year means new optimism.

One team that falls into that category is the Tennessee Titans. The Titans revamped their roster and coaching staff in a big way. General manager Ran Carhon and the rest of the front office are ready to show this new side of the Titans.
Not too many people expect much out of the Titans, but don’t tell that to their second-year quarterback, Will Levis. Levis will enter the 2024 season as the starting quarterback, and he’s looking forward to the pressure that will be bestowed upon him.
“Pressure is a privilege,” Levis said. “It means there’s a lot of eyes on you, a lot of people counting on you to succeed. Pressure is cool. I welcome it with open arms.”
The pressure might not be on Levis nationally, but it certainly will be among the front office and among fans. He will now be given the keys to the car after Tennessee selected him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The 25-year-old has only played and started in nine games, recording a 3-6 record and completing 149 passes, a 56.4 completion percentage, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions. Levis’ time in the NFL and as a starter is limited; however, he will have the runway to showcase his prowess this season.
Levis has the tools to perform to the best of his ability and stay upright, as the Titans have used two back-to-back first-round picks on the offensive line: Peter Skoronski in 2023 and JC Latham in 2024.
Latham stands with his quarterback when it comes to the concept of “pressure.”
“I don’t believe in pressure or stress,” Latham said. “There are things you can control and things you can’t. As long as I do my job to the best of my ability, I can’t really control anything else. Perform to the level of training that you set. How can stress come in if you constantly push yourself to be greater?”
According to BetMGM, the Titans have +15000 odds to win the Super Bowl, +900 odds to win the AFC South, and +400 odds to make the playoffs. The AFC South is a challenge of its own, so we’ll soon find out if they can reclaim it like they have two times in the past five seasons.
The Titans will commence their season on Sunday against the Chicago Bears on the road.
