HBO drama Euphoria begins filming its third season in January, and star Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard, is more than ready.
“I’m very excited to jump back into Cassie,” Sweeney tells People magazine in a new interview. “She is definitely one of the most special characters for me and I love my Euphoria family, so I look forward to it.”
Sweeney said she hopes the new season will take a deeper dive into the darker aspects of Cassie’s personality.

“I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me,” she tells the magazine. Sweeney reports that she’s in the dark about the new season, though. “Honestly, I don’t know anything about it,” she said when asked for teasers.
Sweeney costars on the series with Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer.
In the 2022 season 2 finale, Cassie, angry over her break-up with Nate (Elordi), dramatically stormed on stage during a production of sister Lexi’s Cassie-inspired play, getting herself slapped by Maddy (Demie).
Outside of Euphoria, Sweeney has appeared in The White Lotus, played whistleblower Reality Winner in Tina Satter’s Reality, and co-starred with Glen Powell in the hit 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You.
