If Disney gets to work on a live-action Frozen, Anya Taylor-Joy has suggested that she will be at the front of the audition line for Elsa.
The Queen’s Gambit and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga actress has revealed that her dream Disney or musical role would be as the iconic snow Queen.
In an interview with Vogue Hong Kong, Taylor-Joy said she wanted to tell her siblings’ children that she was Elsa — and shoot ice from her hands.
Per a Google translation, she said: “I really want to do a musical because I’m a little too obsessed with my current job. I love the challenge of completing impossible tasks. I think that’s incredibly motivating for me, so the idea of being able to sing, dance, and act at the same time is really exciting to me.
“I think Frozen is going to be great. Shooting ice cubes out of your hands can be a lot of fun. And, you’ll be the favorite at every kid’s birthday party. All my siblings have kids now, so I would love for them to be able to say, ‘My aunt is Elsa.’ That would be great!”

A live-action version of Frozen is a perennial subject of discussion among the franchise’s fans, but Disney has never confirmed plans to adapt the animation. Disney is currently focused on movies three and four in the animated series, with the former slated for release in 2027.
