Peter Dinklage wants more people to see The Toxic Avenger and opens up when the film will have a wide release.
In a recent interview, the Game of Thrones alum said that the film “was a really big hit” at Fantastic Fest in Austin and was hopeful it could see the light soon.
“No, I’m not a producer on it. I don’t know,” the actor told ComicBook when asked if he knew anything about the movie’s release. “I do want it to get out there into the world because it was a really big hit at Fantastic Fest in Austin, and Macon Blair, the writer/director who is also in The Thicket … He’s incredible. He’s one of my favorite people and favorite artists. So hopefully it will have its day in the toxic sun.”
The Toxic Avenger was part of the Fantastic Fest 2023 lineup, where it had its world premiere. The Legendary Pictures film is a hilarious and action-packed reimagining of the classic Troma film from director Macon Blair. Dinklage stars in the film alongside Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.

The Toxic Avenger centers on Toxie, born when a mild-mannered janitor named Melvin, from Tromaville, NJ, took a tumble into radioactive toxic waste. The feckless Melvin emerges transformed into Toxie, a repulsive (yet oddly endearing) mutant hero who stands up to bullies and corruption with often lethal zeal.
The original film premiered in 1984, starring Mitch Cohen as Toxie. It spawned three sequel films, a stage musical, a children’s cartoon TV series, and a Marvel comic.
