Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella, is celebrating a big milestone. After announcing that she was cancer-free back in June, Isabella, 19 revealed that she is back in school, resuming her studies after taking a leave of absence.
Isabella shared the news via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 20, in a selfie featuring her mother, Michael’s ex-wife Jean Muggli. “Back at USC” she captioned the photo in red text. In the photo, Isabella looks vibrant and happy, rocking a white tank top and denim shorts.
Isabella was first diagnosed with brain cancer last October, and put her studies on hold amid the diagnosis. Over the past eight months, Isabella documented her journey through her YouTube vlog. In her most recent video, she shared the details of her last scan, that took place in July during a follow-up appointment after she was determined to be cancer-free. This was, in her words , a “great, great scan.”
“Cancer-free and everything is great,” Isabella said. “I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.”
Isabella also noted that she would be taking a break from vlogging, as the visits to the hospital won’t be as frequent.
“I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t gonna be going back for a while because I love them so much,” Isabella said in the video. “So, that was my last hospital vlog until October!”
Throughout the journey, Michael, 52, has been by Isabella’s side, showing her love and support. When Isabella revealed that she was cancer free, the Good Morning America co-host took to Instagram to applaud his daughter for her strength and courage.
“you are a SUPERWOMAN,” wrote Michael. “Ringing that bell finishing chemo and on your way. You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella.”
