A new FBI agent is making their way over to the CBS police procedural.
DECIDER can confirm that Lisette Olivera has been cast as Behavioral Analysis Unit agent Syd going out into the field. Deadline was the first to report the news.
Olivera is the FBI franchise’s latest addition, preceded by Chicago P.D. alum Jesse Lee Soffer joining the cast of FBI: International as Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell.
As previously reported by Deadline, the National Treasure: Edge of History star’s FBI casting announcement arrives shortly after news broke of Katherine Renee Kane’s departure from the series. Per IMDb, Kane has been in over 70 episodes of FBI as Special Agent Tiffany Wallace, and also appeared in an episode of FBI: Most Wanted.
FBI fans fortunately have a lot more action coming their way. The show was renewed by the network for three seasons in April, meaning that they can anticipate Seasons 7-9, per an April 9 press release. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach said at the time that “the All-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule.”
“Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons,” she added. “We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters.”
Meanwhile, Wolf said he is “thrilled by the pickups,” noting that they are ” all extremely grateful to George [Cheeks] and Amy [Reisenbach] and their entire team.”
FBI will air as part of CBS’ Tuesday night slate, kicking off the night at 8 p.m. ET. FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted will follow at 9/8c and 10/9c respectively.
Season 7 of FBI is scheduled to premiere on CBS on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
