Good news for ghost-busting enthusiasts: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, aka Ghostbusters 4, is coming to Netflix tomorrow. If I know one thing for certain, it’s that Netflix ain’t afraid of no ghosts.
Directed by Gil Kenan, who also co-wrote the script with Jason Rietman, this 2024 reboot sequel marked the return of Ghostbusters OGs Bill Murray and Dan Akykroyd, who joined the younger cast that includes Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, and Logan Kim. It’s a direct sequel to the sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and even though it wasn’t a runaway box office success for Sony, it’s still an exciting new entry in the Ghostbusters franchise. It is certain to be a hit title for Netflix subscribers.
This new Ghostbusters movie takes place three years after the events of Afterlife, and finds our favorite ghost-busting family in New York City. When a “death-chilling god” starts building a ghost army in the big apple, the veteran ghostbusters we all know and love must join forces with this new crew to save humanity.
