Travis Barker — the inked-up drummer of legendary punk band Blink 182 — hit the New York City pavement hours before a sold-out, Sunday night show at Citi Field to raise money for a good cause: The Boys and Girls Clubs of Los Angeles and New York.
The morning event, which Barker coordinated with Blink’s ongoing “One More Time” tour, quickly became a mecca for his fans.
Many runners wore Blink 182 shirts, and the band’s hits provided the pre-race soundtrack as runners warmed up and stretched out ahead of the 3.1-mile race, which began in the stadium parking lot.
“To see New York show out like this is crazy to me,” Barker, 48, told The Post.
“I live on the entire other side of the country, so it’s like it’s just the coolest thing ever.”
“Even though I come here and I’m like, ‘I might just take it easy,’ — when I see all these people that come out, I get so motivated and hyped up.”
The quick-handed drummer’s enthusiasm paid off, as he finished in just under 21 minutes — good enough to take 35th overall.
Not too shabby for a guy who barely survived a horrific plane crash in 2008 that left him severely injured, he admitted.
“After my accident, I was told you might not ever run again,” Barker said of the wreck, which left him with third-degree burns over more than 70 percent of his body.
“You might not ever play drums again — just a checklist of things that I couldn’t do — and I had to prove them all wrong,” he continued.
“That led to this life of wellness and fitness.”
As part of that journey, the California resident founded a running and wellness organization “Run Travis Run” this year — with Sunday’s event the org’s first in New York.
Runners at the 5K were invited to donate to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Los Angeles and New York during registration.
Barker’s fans were equally elated at his appearance.
“I was psyched,” Neil Tropel, a 36-year-old photographer and Blink 182 fan, said after hearing about the race.
“I didn’t know Travis was a runner until I saw his YouTube videos,” he said.
“His running journey is very inspiring. Staying fit and continuing what he does as a drummer — he keeps going. I was surprised he runs — his form is very well. He’s looking good for his age.”
Barker, who ran his first half marathon in Santa Monica earlier this year under a fake name alongside UFC fighter and friend Marlon Chito Vera, said he’s eyeing next year’s New York City Marathon — even though lottery drawings ended months ago.
“The bucket list is a marathon,” he said.
“I want to hit one before the end of the year, so maybe it is New York! I don’t know. I would love to.”
When asked why his Blink 182 bandmates Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge weren’t running with him, he said it wasn’t their style.
“I don’t think I could get them to run if I was chasing them or if anyone was chasing them,” Barker said. “But I think they’re conserving their energy for the show. I just know I could do this and the show.”
The band will perform for 42,000 people Sunday night at the sold-out 7 p.m. show.
