Fox is searching for people to surprise audiences with hidden talents in its latest non-scripted project.
The network is developing The Talent Test, which will “take a select group of people through a life-changing test to reveal their hidden potential”.
Deadline understands that the show is in very early development and the network is working on a proof of concept for the show. It is currently casting.
The show is based on the premise that most people have untapped potential and a hidden talent waiting to be discovered, whether it’s singing, dancing or playing an instrument.
There will then be an “expert” team to help them learn, develop and showcase their newly discovered skill.
The Talent Test comes from British production company 110% Content, which is backed by Elisabeth Murdoch. The company was set up by former ITV entertainment chief Siobhan Greene, who co-created Popstars: The Rivals and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and worked on The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. She works alongside Andy Culpin, co-creator of The Weakest Link.
It comes as Dermot O’Leary, who hosts popular ITV daytime show This Morning and previously hosted The X Factor in the UK, hosted a British version of the show. A pilot was filmed earlier this month in London.
Fox declined to comment.
