Actress Pat Colbert, best known for her run on Dallas, died in Compton, Calif. at her home on June 23, per The Hollywood Reporter. She was 77.
Tami Colbert, the late actress’ sister, confirmed the news to the outlet. THR reported that Pat had three strokes over the past decade. According to Deadline, a funeral for Colbert will take place on Saturday, July 20.
Colbert was born Sandra Patricia Colbert on Jan. 16, 1947 in Los Angeles, per THR. After earning her first TV credit in an episode of Eischied in 1979, she would go on to appear in episodes of Flamingo Road, Capitol, Benson, The Fall Guy, Knots Landing, and A Death in California before taking on the role of Dora Mae — the host of the Oil Baron’s Club restaurant — in Season 6 of Dallas. She remained on the show through its 14th and final season, appearing in 67 episodes. In 1991, she also appeared on Sisters and True Color.
In 1981, she played a nurse in the black comedy S.O.B., which starred Julie Andrews and William Holden. She also starred as Allison Parker in Leonard Part 6, the 1987 spy parody starring Bill Cosby. Per IMDb, her most recent onscreen credit was earned in the 2015 film If Not For His Grace.
Hill Place Blog, an outlet cited by THR, mourned the loss of Colbert, and reminisced on an old interview of hers in which she ‘joked” about her ‘dream” for Dora Mae.
“I just remembered there was once a TV Guide interview with Pat Colbert where she joked that her dream someday would be to have JR Ewing come to work at Ewing Oil, in the final scene of the series finale, only to find that Dora Mae has taken over the company and is now running it,” the post read.
