With so many makeup tips and tricks shared to social media every day, it can be hard to know where to start and what to focus your look on, but an easy-to-follow rule could be the key to creating the ultimate summer makeup look every time.
The ‘golden triangle’ is an easy way to create “natural summer makeup,” shared to social media by Giorgina Juanita (@gjuanita), and utilizes the “attention-grabbing points” of your face.
Juanita, who amassed more than 1.2 million views and over 103,000 likes with the clip, shared in early June, said: “If you’re wearing any makeup at all this summer, then let it be the Golden Triangle.
“When people look at you, the first thing they see is your eyes, your lips, and your brows. If you’re doing natural makeup, then make sure that these three attention-grabbing points always look good.”
Starting with brows, Juanita began by using a brow gel to brush the hairs up and lock them into place for an almost-laminated look. Brushing up her brows gives them a well-groomed and polished look.
Next, to draw attention to her eyes, she added a half-lash, simultaneously adding volume to her lashes while lifting the eye area for a cat-eye effect. The false lashes also darkened Juanita’s lash line, making her eye color stand out even more.
Finally, she accentuated her lips by using a nude-toned lip liner to slightly overdraw along her Cupid’s bow. Knowing it wouldn’t be summer without a moisturized finish, she used a clear, glowing lip balm to finish the look.
While Juanita’s look is a great example of a natural look, the golden triangle rule can be applied to other makeup styles; just keep your brows, eyes and lips at the center of your look.
What Do the Comments Say?
It seems Juanita has found the perfect formula for summer makeup, with the comments section of the viral clip showing how much the viewers loved her rule.
“Wait this makes so much sense!!!” wrote one user.
“Oooo that’s a good way to think about it!!!” added a second. “Love it.”
Some makeup-savvy users already had this hack down, as one shared: “This is exactly where I put my makeup.”
“yh [Yeah] normally all I do is my brows my lashes and my lips and normally do concealer,” added another.
For one user, the look proved a little too natural for their liking, as they wrote, “unable to leave the house without full coverage foundation gang.”
