Netflix will release biographical documentary Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli on August 2, shedding light on the Indian filmmaker behind titles like Baahubali and RRR.
Presented by Anupama Chopra, the documentary features insights on S.S. Rajamouli from James Cameron, Joe Russo, and Karan Johar, as well as close friends and colleagues such as Prabhas, Jr NTR, Rana Daggubati and Ram Charan.
Netflix partnered with Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios to make the documentary, which highlights Rajamouli’s influence on Indian and international cinema, with interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. The film will form part of Netflix’s Modern Masters doc series on Indian creatives.

Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli is part of Netflix’s 2024 slate of documentaries from across India, which includes the upcoming Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, an intimate look at the life of the rapper and actor; cricket doc The Greatest Rivalry – India vs Pakistan; and the Oscar-winning To Kill a Tiger.
