Michael Strahan‘s absence from Good Morning America has now continued into its second week. But Friday’s (July 5) broadcast aired with an even bigger surprise for fans of the daytime news show: George Stephanopolous and Robin Roberts were also missing from the morning broadcast.
This morning’s broadcast may come as a disappointment for fans who have been waiting for Strahan to return to the show.
Instead, ABC correspondents Gio Benitez, Rebecca Jarvis, and Whit Johnson were filling in for the longtime anchors. While the correspondents did not share why Strahan, Roberts and Stephanopolous were not on the show that morning, we may be able to guess when they’ll be back on the GMA desk.
The former NFL player has been missing from the broadcast since June 24. As Strahan’s extended absence continues into a second week, fans may be wondering where the GMA host is and when should he be expected back on the show. Here’s what we know so far.
Where is Michael Strahan?
A source familiar with the matter confirmed to DECIDER that Strahan has been away on vacation, but fans should expect to see him back on their TVs bright and early in just a matter of days.
DECIDER can confirm that Strahan is expected back on the show beginning the week of July 7.
As for Roberts and Stephanopolous, it’s likely they went away on vacation for the July 4 holiday. Roberts recently enjoyed a reporting trip to Portugal with ABC and her wife, Amber Laign. DECIDER has reached out to GMA for additional information.
Fingers crossed a much-needed reunion between the co-hosts may be coming down the pipeline!
Good Morning America airs weekdays at 7/6c on ABC.
