Who says the Nathan’s Famous Hotdog Eating Contest needs Joey Chestnut to break records?
Reigning champ Miki Sudo took home women’s title at the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest Thursday, chowing down on a record-breaking 51 dogs in 10 minutes.
Mayoi Ebihara, of Tokyo, Japan, came in second with 37 dogs, while Arizona’s Michelle Lesco finished third with 23.5 wieners.
“I feel I struggled a bit,” Sudo said in the moments after her win. “51 is a milestone.”
Sudo, a Big Apple native, beat her beef-eating competitors by a mile at the July 4 tradition.
Sudo has reigned supreme for the last nine years — ever since she first competed in 2014.
After taking a brief break in 2021 when she was pregnant, Sudo returned in 2022 to reclaim her Mustard Yellow Belt after gobbling down 42 dogs.
Last year, she managed a winning 39-and-a-half hot dogs in 10 minutes.
Sudo’s previous personal best — and the previous women’s record — came in 2020 when she chowed down on a whopping 48.5 dogs in the beef-eating competition.
