Over the years, Jennifer Aniston’s hair has gained as much of a cult following as the sitcom that launched her career. First, we became as obsessed with The Rachel, so named for Aniston’s beloved character on Friends, and even 27 years later, it remains a pop culture emblem of the ‘90s.
Its various spin-offs have created just as much hype—from Aniston’s brunette lowlights to her long, beachy waves, and even a golden blonde lob. But it is Jennifer Aniston’s new, ever-changing bob that we can’t get enough of right now.
Back in January the star debuted her shortest cut in years on the Golden Globes 2024 red carpet, cropping her hair to her collarbone. Then, at the People’s Choice Awards in mid-February, she caused a stir with a look that was dubbed the “fluffy lob”—technically a long bob with ghost layers—to provide plenty of volume.
But recently we’ve seen echoes of The Rachel, albeit more modern takes that bring the cut up to date for 2024.
On June 2, at the Emmy FYC event for her hit drama The Morning Show, Aniston arrived at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles with a shorter bob in a sandy blonde hue.
Worn in a side-parted style with the choppy ends tucked under on one side and casually flicked out on the other, she suddenly became the poster girl for summer’s most lustworthy, low-maintenance hairstyle. She paired the look with an equally low-key floral summer dress.
This outing follows the The Hollywood Reporter‘s Full Drama Actress Roundtable in Santa Monica, featuring other A-listers including Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, Brie Larson, Sofia Vergara, and Anna Sawai.
Wearing a white waistcoat and large gold hoop earrings, Aniston revealed yet another riff on her shoulder-grazing, side-parted style—this time a more polished flicked out bob, where the hair has been smoothed, the ends flicked upwards and any flyaways tamed.
The bronde hue (a shade sitting somewhere between blonde and brunette) of her hair matched the cooler palette of her smokey eye and the hint of metallic shimmer in her peach lipstick, too.
Speaking with Kidman, who addresses Aniston’s “enormous career” in the video clip and how she’s sustained it, Aniston humbly says “I don’t know how.” She also admits that she gets emotional in the company of these fellow actors, saying, “I’ll start to cry. I get motivated, I’m still here, we’re still here.”
She certainly is. Not only is Jennifer Aniston’s career going from strength to strength, I think you’ll agree that so are the iconic hair transformations she’s serving up.
