Stephanie Beatriz is opening up about a recent reunion she had with the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast which they used to remember their late co-star André Braugher.
The actor died in December 2023 at the age of 61 following a brief illness. Beatriz and her former co-stars, such as Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, and Chelsea Peretti, saw each other in March to remember Braugher.
“[It was] a chance for all of us to get together and make each other laugh,” Beatriz told People about the reunion. “And it was also a chance to talk about André. It came up immediately, and then we put it away for a while.”
She continued, “But at the end of the dinner, by the end, we were all just sharing stories about him and our memories of him. And he lives in our hearts forever and ever.”

Crews shared a picture of the gathering on Instagram when it happened with the photo also featuring Joe Lo Truglio, Joel McKinnon Miller and Dirk Blocker.
“We laughed. We cried a little. We reminisced. We laughed some more. Nine Nine Forever,” read the caption in the post also shared by Fumero.
Braugher’s official cause of death was complications from lung cancer, which the actor was diagnosed with a few months before.
The actor played Captain Holt from its premiere on Fox in 2013 and its finale on NBC in 2021, during the show’s eight-season run.
