Kylie Kelce is getting used to the spotlight as her brother-in-law’s relationship with Taylor Swift continues to elevate the Kelce family’s platforms.
Don’t get it twisted, the 31-year-old mother of three has never resented Traylor. Back in the early days, Kylie hit back at “tabloid nonsense” and headlines that sought to pit her against Swift and other WAGs, emphasizing that her discomfort with attention was not a dig against the 34-year-old pop star. Since then, Kylie has liked pro-Swiftie sentiments on social media and eventually spent time with Swift in the Chiefs suites, having previously declared herself a “stands girl.”

Even so, Kylie has largely remained tight-lipped about her brother-in-law’s love life, simply telling Glamour that she’s happy about Swift’s effect on football. “To see that other young girls are getting involved and that they want to sit down and cheer with their dads or they’re finding their own reason to be interested, it’s only something that can be painted in a positive and exciting light,” she said while promoting Dove’s Body Confident Sports initiative in late January. “It’s just another way to encourage girls to appreciate sport.”
Four months later, she’s become much more comfortable with her newfound fame, though she still agrees she’s not a “spotlight person,” as Today host Savannah Guthrie put it during a new interview. “It’s interesting. I am trying to take it in stride and just make sure that as people are talking about me, it’s about important things,” she told Guthrie and Hoda Kotb. “The Eagles [Autism] Foundation is the perfect example.”
And when she was inevitably asked about witnessing her brother-in-law’s love story with Taylor Swift “close up,” she was willing to throw the hosts a bone. “Ultimately, if Travis is happy, we’re happy,” Kylie Kelce said. “We are always cheering on Uncle Trav, it’s such a treat to be able to do that on and off the field. But it’s been amazing.”
While Kelce and Swift’s relationship has been heavily documented, Kylie went on to joke that she’s “so glad” that there is “no video evidence” of her first date with now-husband Jason Kelce. In case you don’t know, he famously fell asleep at the bar after matching with Kylie on Tinder. You can read all about their unconventional romance here.
As usual Kylie Kelce remained loyal to husband’s former football team by dressing in an Eagles T-shirt, jeans, and a pair of Nike’s with a green swoop. Remember, this was the woman who refused to wear Chiefs gear to cheer on Travis Kelce during the Super Bowl, instead opting to wear a red Cincinnati Bearcats top in honor of his college football days.
“The thing [Jason and I] try our best to maintain is a sense of authenticity,” Kelce previously told Glamour. “We don’t ever want to be people that we are not, mostly because our girls are watching. We want to make sure that we treat people kindly, that we continue to stay grounded, that we continue to act the way that we’ve always acted so that our girls understand that that’s how you should be conducting yourself.”
Like Guthrie said on Today, Kylie Kelce truly is “the people’s princess of Philadelphia.”
