Salma Hayek Pinault is Glamour‘s February cover star, and while the interview has an abundance of fascinating intel (that White Lotus scoop, for one), it’s hard not to notice her flawless glam and glowing skin.
Hayek looked every inch the genuine Hollywood movie star she is, wearing fiery red lips, long lashes, and most notably, flawless highlighter that makes her cheekbones pop. The look was designed by Charlotte Tilbury makeup artist Sofia Tilbury, who pulled inspiration from one of Hayek’s most memorable red carpet moments in the ‘90s. “Salma Hayek loves a statement lip look, and we were inspired by her sultry femme fatale moment at the Desperado premiere in LA in the ’90s,” Tilbury said. “That rich, scarlet red lip combined with the matching slip dress—iconic.”
Other trends on the mood board were neutral mattes, bold lip looks, frosted and blushed cheeks. “All the beauty trends we’re seeing taking over TikTok right now,” Tilbury said.
To get those frosted cheeks, Tilbury used the Hollywood Glow Glide Highlighter in Champagne Glow which acts like an IRL Instagram filter. The powder compact has been used on the likes of Lily James, Lizzo, Jessica Chastain, and Hayek throughout awards season.
“Charlotte is known as the Queen of Glow, and the Hollywood Glow Glide Highlighter is the new beauty glow secret the stars are obsessed with,” she says. “It’s like sculpting your complexion with light.”
The secret is to apply on the high points of your face, to add some lift and brightness. “We glided this over the cheekbones, jawline, brow bone, inner corners of the eyes, cupid’s bow, and nose to amplify her gorgeous facial features,” said Tilbury.
Made with skin-loving ingredients like squalane, the formula acts like a liquid once applied onto skin and diffuses seamlessly. “It’s a finely milled powder formula, so it glides on without settling into fine lines or creasing, but it’s also infused with smoothing emollients for a liquid look that catches the light and gives a multi-dimensional glow,” she says. “It’s just as beautiful in real life and on the red carpet as it is on camera.”

Rounding out the beauty look is the Magic Vanish Color Corrector and Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer to erase dark circles, before setting with the Airbrush Brightening Flawless Finish Powder. For contour, Tilbury used the Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer, then applied a soft, neutral matte eye using The Sophisticate palette.
For the perfect red lip, Tilbury used the Lip Cheat Kiss n Tell liner, then topped it off with Red Wishes, “a super pigmented poppy red lipstick with a high-impact, velvet finish.”
To ensure Hayek’s makeup stayed put throughout the shoot, Tilbury used the Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. “This went viral on TikTok for a reason,” she says. ”It sets makeup for up to 16 hours without fading or creasing and it feels so refreshing and soothing. During Covid, I was approached by so many nurses and key workers who swore by this setting spray to keep their makeup in place all day whilst wearing masks. Your makeup will not budge.”
