Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin are baring their teeth this weekend in Paramount+’s Teen Wolf: The Movie because time is a flat circle and we will never truly escape the year 2011.
Directed by Russell Mulcahy, who was a key director on MTV’s Teen Wolf series, and written by series creator Jeff Davis, Teen Wolf: The Movie picks up 13 years after we last saw Scott McCall. (Even though the supernatural teen drama only went off the air six years ago, the movie jumps ahead to the year 2026.) Most of the original cast is back, including Posey, Hoechlin, Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, and JR Bourne.
The glaring exception, of course, is fan-favorite Dylan O’Brien as Stiles, who won’t be appearing in the film. “t was tough to come to the decision that I came to,” O’Brien told Decider in a previous interview when asked about his decision not be in the movie. “But I do think I came to the one that was most true to myself right now.”
