Sometimes words don’t come easy, especially the five-letter ones that form your daily Wordle.

The rules are simple to follow but the answer can be tricky to get. Wordle asks players to solve a puzzle by guessing a mysterious five-letter word in six tries or fewer.

A letter that is not in the word at all will turn the tile gray. A correct letter that is in the wrong place turns the tile yellow, while a letter in the right place turns green.

You may be seeing red if you have not got the answer by the sixth try, but Newsweek has some handy hints to unfurrow those brows.

When tackling the puzzle you may need to consider a variety of strategies and deploy them depending on the day. One good tactic is to start with a vowel-rich word like AUDIO, and leave the lesser used letters, like X, Q and Z until you have a better idea of what the answer might be.

Research conducted by online gaming site im-a-puzzle.com has revealed the words shared by players on Twitter that caused the biggest failure rate. These included “parer” “foyer” and “catch.”

Engineer Josh Wardle started working on the game in 2013 and finished it during the COVID lockdown. After getting help from his partner, Palak Shah, the game was launched in 2021 and has grown exponentially, its global reach assured when it was purchased by The New York Times.

Wardle previously told Newsweek that the game took hold in New Zealand first because “the Twittersphere over there is quite small, so everyone tends to be rather interconnected.”

Wordle has since sparked a genre of puzzle games with many clones and imitators including math guessing game Nerdle and the geography-themed variant called Worldle.

Hint #3: The Wordle answer for Saturday describes a part of the body.

Hint #4: One of the Merriam-Webster definitions for Wordle #532 is the “human body apart from the head, neck, arms, and legs.”

‘Wordle’ #532 Answer for Saturday, December 2

The answer for Saturday’s puzzle is “Torso.”

The next Wordle puzzle will be available at 7 p.m. ET, when the daily update occurs. While you wait for that refresh, you might want to try some of these alternative word puzzles instead.
