Harry Styles on Tuesday expressed his support for Joe Biden on Twitter, sparking a slew of fellow voters echoing his call to “vote with kindness.”
The comments from Styles come as surveys show that perceptions favor Biden over President Donald Trump. In a poll released on Oct. 9 by the Pew Research Center, voters said they feel colder about Trump than they do Biden.
Styles, 26, is a British singer, songwriter and actor. He was part of the successful boy band “One Direction” and made his acting debut in 2017 playing a soldier in Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk.” His most recent album, titled “Fine Line,” released in 2019.
Styles comments come after his support for the LGBTQ movement, including selling rainbow merchandise with his refrain, “Treat People With Kindness,” and donating the proceeds to an LGBTQ youth charity.
Like Styles, many in Hollywood and in pop music have pledged their support for Biden. The Democratic nominee has received support from Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Madonna and several others.
Biden leads Trump in most general election polls. The race is competitive in several states that Trump carried in 2016.
The election is set for Nov. 3 and early voting has begun in most states.
