Meghan Markle’s dad has called for his daughter and her husband Prince Harry to stop “whining” when there is so much real suffering in the world in an unsparing new interview.
“This is the worst time in the world for them to be whining and complaining about anything — because people everywhere are suffering due to the coronavirus pandemic,” Thomas Markle told The Sun.
“I love my daughter but I really don’t appreciate what she’s become right now.”
Markle’s comments come after a flurry of stories about Meghan and Harry’s bitter break from the royal family ahead of the release of a new tell-all book, “Finding Freedom,” which many speculate had input from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex despite their denials.
Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have long bragged of their close ties to the Duchess, and the book contains intimate anecdotes only the couple or their very close friends would know, The Sun noted.
Thomas — who said he was devastated to miss his daughter’s 2018 wedding because of a serious heart attack — said he was distraught at the book’s claim that Meghan turned down the royal family’s offer to help protect him.
“The fact the royals advised them to get me help and they refused to do it is incredible news,” he told The Sun from his home in Rosarito, Mexico.
However, the book also claimed that Meghan sent multiple texts to her father, begging him to come to her wedding, but they went unanswered, even on the night before she married Prince Harry.
The book then goes on to claim that the former “Suits” actress is still furious at her dad for lying about pre-wedding photos he staged with paparazzi — even though she used to work with photographers to get flattering shots.
“Apparently Meghan has made deals with the paparazzi. She planned it,” the upset father said of his daughter’s apparent hypocrisy.
A rep for the couple has insisted to The Post that the “Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to ‘Finding Freedom.’”
“This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting,” the rep said.
Pressed by The Sun, author Scobie also said that his “time around the couple is enough for me to know my subjects.”
“You’ve read the book. There are no on-the-record interviews with the couple,” he told the UK paper.
