COMME des GARÇONS PLAY has been adding its signature heart motif to Converse‘s premium Chuck 70 sneaker since 2015, and the partnership is entering a new phase with three spring-ready styles: “Bright Green,” “Bright Blue” and “Bright Pink.” While past CDG Chucks used simple shades like black, sail or olive, this vibrant trifecta opts for bold and bright pastel hues to play up its embellishments in time for spring.
All three colorways are present in both high- and low-top canvas styles. Prior CDG Chucks used everything from super-sized hearts that disappear into the midsole to a repeating heart print or the Japanese label’s preferred polka dots, but all six of these pairs keep things simple, placing a conventional Filip Pagowski-designed heart on the lateral collar (Hi) or midfoot (Low). Medial sides on the Hi equip a signature circular Converse badge but all pairs boast a white fabric heel strip, high gloss sail rubber toecaps and sail midsoles with tonal foxing.
This full pack of COMME des GARÇONS PLAY x Converse Chuck 70s will release at retailers like Dover Street Market on April 2, with each pair priced at $150 USD.
If you’re in the market for more colorful footwear, take a look at Nike SB‘s new SB Dunk Low “Blue Fury,” a shoe with a color scheme reminiscent of Blue’s Clues.
