Down goes The Ladybug. On Wednesday night, The Masked Singer said goodbye to yet another creepy-crawly character, but this time, the masked contestant was far less dangerous. Who was unmasked on The Masked Singer Season 2? After an intense vocal battle with four other contestants, The Ladybug was eliminated, and at the end of the show she was revealed to be… singer, author, and reality star Kelly Osbourne!
Tonight, The Masked Singer introduced Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, a puppet who joined the panel in guessing the identities of The Ladybug, The Flower, The Tree, The Fox, and The Rottweiler. The spotted bug was second to perform, but first, she offered a few more clues about the person underneath the mask. The Ladybug’s clue package suggested that she’s involved in a band, or at the very least, a group filled with funky personalities. “For years, I convinced myself that I just wasn’t good enough,” she said. “Whether in my career, in my relationships, or, of course, in my family, I’ve let insecurities get in my way.” Towards the end of the glitter and tie-dye filled segment, The Ladybug said that she plans to go “second star to the right, and straight on ’til morning” to win it all. What could the Peter Pan connection mean?
In an attempt to show off her “tough side,” The Ladybug performed “Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer. Once again, she had the panel stumped (it didn’t help that she tried to throw her voice to confuse the audience). Ken Jeong repeated his Lindsay Lohan guess, while Jenny McCarthy focused on the “family drama” clues and guessed Paris Jackson. Nicki Minaj and Jamie Lynn Spears were also thrown out as potential answers.
The Ladybug gave a valiant effort, but her wish didn’t come true: at the end of the show, she was voted off The Masked Singer. After some final guesses, The Ladybug took her mask off, revealing none other than Kelly Osbourne. The panel was completely shocked, with Ken Jeong saying, “We’ve been played.”
