Hailing from a string of collaborations unveiled at its Fall/Winter 2019 runway show in September, KITH’s “Love Thy City” collection with Vogue and Russell Athletic is finally ready for release. The trio of brands are represented through a logo-heavy assortment of varsity jackets, sweatpants, hoodies, crewnecks and T-shirts, while a colorful palette pays homage to each of KITH’s flagship locations.
There are 24 pieces in total, all of which share a scholarly theme inspired by various college team colors in each region: Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Miami and SoHo. The resulting garments sport pastel tones of blue and pink that mix with neutrals such as cream and grey for a Miami Vice-drenched palette, or faded shades of blue that meld with red on the Brooklyn lineup. Meanwhile, L.A. gets a classic red, white and royal blue mix throughout, while the SoHo-inspired items lend the darkest offering with forest green, gold and black options.
The varsity jacket was made in partnership with heritage label Golden Bear and is perhaps the standout item of the assortment, crafted from virgin wool and emblazoned with Vogue embroidery on the chest, a KITH logo on the back and each city’s name realized in cursive writing. Meanwhile, the hoodies, crewnecks and sweatpants are constructed with 100% cotton brushback fleece for a sporty yet cozy feel. A selection of long-sleeved and short-sleeved tees finishes it all off with more fresh graphic hits that reinforce KITH’s loungey aesthetic.
KITH stores will receive their respective “Love Thy City” capsules starting on November 8 and the collections will also release online that same day on KITH’s website.
Elsewhere, KITH released its second FW19 drop last month, fusing contemporary and classic elements in an appealing blend.
