President Donald Trump’s disgraced Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino engaged in a posting spree on X Wednesday evening that rapidly went off the rails, and culminated in him telling a female reporter to “fix us a pie.”
The drama began when Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, whose state just finally saw a withdrawal of federal forces after months of crackdowns and clashes with protesters in Chicago, posted, “Kristi Noem has to go. Gregory Bovino has to go. Stephen Miller has to go.”
“Nah, gubner, too busy leading agents to arrest illegal aliens,” replied Bovino. “Besides, Chicago may need another double digit drop in a whole smorgasbord of violent crime, compliments of the Green Machine. Perhaps we could meet for a sugar-free slice of heirloom apple pie -on me!”
“Greg Bovino is now offering to meet Gov. Pritzker for pie, while suggesting CBP should return to Chicago,” posted Amanda Moore, a reporter on right-wing extremism who spent a year undercover in MAGA circles and has been covering Bovino specifically for months.
At this point, the conversation took a bizarre turn, as Bovino and Moore began trolling each other.
“You didn’t say it correctly – a sugar-free slice of HIERLOOM apple pie. Perhaps you could make the pie for us,” Bovino replied.
“Commander it would be my honor, just tell me where to go,” wrote Moore.
“Most excellent. I’ll let the gubner know you’ll be taking care of his appetite, in a healthy way,” wrote Bovino.
“Only if you’re there, Commander!!!!” wrote Moore.
“I’d love to see you bustling around the gubner’s kitchen fixing us a pie. I truly would,” wrote Bovino.
Bovino was behind the federal operations in multiple cities including Chicago and Minneapolis, where the suppression of protesters and concerned bystanders by federal agents led to injuries and ultimately the shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. After the Trump administration realized backlash was rising, Bovino was reassigned back to his original post in California, with longtime border adviser Tom Homan taking command instead, although so far little appears to have changed.
