  • The 2026 Oscar Nominees Luncheon was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday.
  • A-list stars walked the red carpet, but some looked more fashionable than others.
  • Emma Stone and Teyana Taylor looked chic in black, while Kate Hudson’s accessories weren’t great.

Hollywood is gearing up for the 2026 Oscars in style.

The Academy Awards aren’t until March, but on Tuesday, the 2026 nominees gathered at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the Oscar Nominees Luncheon.

Many of the stars of the year’s biggest movies looked giddy as they walked the red carpet for the event, celebrating their nominations.

However, some stars’ outfits for the event were more stylish than others. Take a look at the best and worst looks of the luncheon.

Elle Fanning’s chic dress had a suit-like silhouette.

Fanning, who is a first-time nominee for her performance in “Sentimental Value,” arrived at the luncheon in a black gown from Givenchy.

The bodice was designed to look like a blazer, with a plunging neckline, lapels, and white sleeve trim to create the illusion of a shirt beneath the ensemble.

The dress cinched at Fanning’s waist, and layers of fabric sat atop each other on the skirt, forming a slit on one side. Black heels and an owl brooch completed the stylish look.

Timothée Chalamet’s suit popped, but the fit could have been better.

Chalamet’s blue Givenchy suit worked in theory, as he gave it a slightly more casual feel by wearing no tie, unbuttoning his sleeves, and leaving one of the double-breasted buttons undone.

However, the suit ended up looking a bit disheveled, particularly because its oversize fit swallowed Chalamet’s frame. The “Marty Supreme” nominee could have pulled off the wider fit if he had styled it more formally, or he could have worn a slimmer fit with the same relaxed styling.

The blend of textures in Teyana Taylor’s all-black look made it stand out.

Taylor continued her slew of stylish red-carpet looks with an all-black ensemble from Cong Tri.

The bodice featured an unbuttoned blouse made of a leather-like material that cinched at her waist before flowing into a semi-sheer, floor-length skirt. She brought some fun to the look with a sequin-covered coat, which she wore on her shoulders.

The actor is a first-time Oscars nominee for her performance in “One Battle After Another.”

Kate Hudson’s red dress was overshadowed by her accessories.

Hudson’s bright-red gown from Lanvin was a great choice for the luncheon, with an Old Hollywood feel from its sleeveless, boat neckline and ruching at the waistline. Her sideswept hair played up the aesthetic.

However, the “Song Sung Blue” nominee’s accessories detracted from the look. Her black belt, black gloves, and white-and-black shoes just didn’t fit the dress’ glamorous feel.

Swapping the accessories for subtler options would have allowed the dress to shine more.

Michael B. Jordan looked sharp in a charcoal suit.

The “Sinners” nominee walked the luncheon red carpet in a Balenciaga suit with David Yurman accessories.

His double-breasted suit had a subtle twill pattern, and he wore it with a black tank top instead of a button-down to dress it down a bit.

A red floral brooch brought a pop of color to Jordan’s ensemble.

Ejae’s oversize suit was one of the best looks of the event.

Ejae, who is Oscar-nominated for her song “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters,” wore a cream suit to the luncheon.

Her pinstripe blazer and pants both had a long look, and she paired them with a slightly darker polka dot top. She wore the shirt unbuttoned, revealing a lacy bustier.

Snakeskin shoes, a brooch, and simple earrings tied the look together.

On the other hand, the pattern on Amy Madigan’s suit was overwhelming to the eye.

The “Weapons” actor chose a silver Thom Browne suit, which consisted of a jacket, high-waisted pants, and a tie. All three pieces were covered in a floral pattern that shimmered on the red carpet. She paired the suit with a white blouse, gray-and-white shoes, and tinted glasses.

Although the floral pattern was pretty, the blazer, pants, and tie together looked overwhelming. If Madigan had paired the jacket and tie with simpler pants, they may have worked better together.

Emma Stone’s look embraced menswear in a playful way.

Nominated for her performance in “Bugonia,” Stone walked the red carpet in a black minidress from Julie de Libran couture.

The dress mimicked the shape of a blazer, with a plunging neckline lined with lapels and pockets on either side of her hips. A large rosette sat at the center of the low neckline, and Stone added more feminine details with sheer black tights and strappy heels.
