Margot Robbie says that a fellow actor once gave her a book telling her to eat less: ‘I was like, whoa’

Margot Robbie revealed a male actor once gave her a book telling her to “eat less.”

The Australian actress said she received the shocking book from a co-star, which she found offensive.

“Very, very early in my career, an actor I worked with, a male actor, gave me a book called ‘Why French Women Don’t Get Fat,’ and it was essentially a book telling you to eat less,” she told her “Wuthering Heights” collaborator Charli XCX in a video interview for Complex.

“And I was like, ‘Whoa, f–k you, dude,’” she said of her reaction.

Robbie, 35, said she didn’t know what became of the actor as the incident was “really back in the day.”

“He essentially gave me a book to let me know that I should lose weight,” the “Barbie” star said. “I was like, ‘Wow.’”

Charli quipped about the actor, “Your career’s over, babe.”

“French Women Don’t Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure” is written by Mireille Guiliano and was published in 2007.

According to its Amazon description, it is not a diet book, but rather, a guide on how to approach healthy living and an “inspiring take on health and eating for our times.”

Robbie has made headlines for her incredible fashion looks while promoting “Wuthering Heights,” the latest adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 classic novel starring her and Jacob Elordi.

Last week, the actress drew direct inspiration from the Brönte sisters at the “Wuthering Heights” UK premiere with her jaw-dropping bracelet on her left wrist — a perfect replica of a 175-year-old mourning bracelet once owned and worn by Charlotte Brönte.

Upon the death of Charlotte’s siblings — Emily and her sister Anne died five months apart, in December 1848 and May 1849, respectively — she commissioned the original bracelet fashioned from their hair, woven together and intertwined for all eternity.
