  • New York City's winter holiday decorations draw crowds every year.
  • Decorations began appearing at well-known sites like Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan.
  • Other popular spots like Bryant Park have also already transformed into a winter wonderland.

Hark, Christmas has descended on New York City.

For several weeks this fall, the trees of the iconic Zuccotti Park, blocks from Wall Street (and the frequent site of anti-capitalist protests), have created a captivating golden canopy, accentuated by the lights that wrap around them.

Now, on Saturday morning, workers were unpacking Christmas trees in the park, heralding the arrival of a new season: winter.

Zuccotti is just one of many New York City-based parks that are transformed by twinkling lights each year ahead of the holiday season. Bank of America's Winter Village at Bryant Park opened to the public in October, while workers raised the renowned Rockefeller Center Christmas tree on Saturday.
