Shocking footage captured the horrifying moment a knife-wielding madman viciously stabbed his 10-year-old neighbor and her elderly grandfather in Los Angeles Friday morning.
Harrowing video, obtained by KTLA, shows two young kids walking down their Sunland driveway to meet their grandfather for a ride to school when the psychotic suspect, a mentally ill neighbor, launched his violent attack, sending their family members and neighbors into a panic.
The terrified children are seen wailing as they sprint up the driveway away from the rampaging maniac, who was frantically waving his blade while darting back and forth between cars.
The senior, who was jabbed in the neck, struggled to stand up off the street in his blood-soaked shirt as the alleged assailant lunged at him before jumping into the victim’s black Volvo and fleeing, the disturbing footage shows.
Police said the grandfather, in his 70s, and three children were inside the car about to head to school around 7:40 a.m. when the lunatic came up behind them and tried to knife them.
“Just getting up, going to school in the morning and the grandpa puts the granddaughter into the car, psychopath runs at the granddaughter and straight up stabs her in the arm,” horrified neighbor, Mike Agajanyan, told KTLA.
“Grandpa runs at him, he turns the knife on him and stabs him on the neck and on the arm.”
Two of the children were able to escape the car – but the grandfather and 10-year-old were both stabbed, Fox 11 reported.
The young girl was reportedly slashed in the arm.
The pair were rushed to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
The violent suspect, who is known to police, jumped inside the vehicle after the gruesome attack and drove off, ditching the car a few miles away.

He was captured hours later around 2 p.m. and taken into custody.
Fed-up neighborhood residents told KTLA the alleged stabber is a troubled 30-something year old, who lives with his parents and has been terrorizing people in the area for years.
“It’s terrifying but honestly not surprising, because we’ve been having problems with him for years,” one neighbor said.
“He’s been arrested multiple times, his own family members have called the police on him. He keeps getting released.”
The suspect’s worried family explained that they’ve tried getting him help for his mental illness – but didn’t provide any additional information on his condition.
Police have not released the man’s name or charges.
