Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) dismissed Rep. Andy Barr’s (R-KY) endorsement of an opponent as a “political stunt” to get President Donald Trump’s attention.

“Proud to endorse America First patriot @EdGallrein for #KY04. Ed will fight for the MAGA agenda and will NEVER side with AOC and the radical left against President Trump,” Barr wrote in a Thursday post on X.

Massie later responded to NBC News correspondent Melanie Zanona.

“We haven’t seen a poll where Andy Barr wasn’t in last place in months,” the lawmaker said. “This is a desperate political stunt by Barr to get Trump’s attention. Nobody in Kentucky’s 4th district has ever said they want a swampy Congressman just like Andy Barr.”
