Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Jr., released from jail after 2 months, considers time served ‘a blessing’

“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., has been released from Salt Lake County Metro Jail after serving two months behind bars.

Robert Jr.’s attorney, Clayton Simms, exclusively tells Page Six the reality star was released on Tuesday and considers his time in jail to be “a blessing.”

“It allowed him to sober up and start thinking clearly. He’s looking forward to doing positive things. The difficulty is that he was slow to recognize the dissolution of his marriage. But now he understands the relationship is over, and he’s moving forward,” Simms said.

As part of his release, Robert Jr. was ordered to complete 24 months probation and 75 hours community service, and he is expected to attend anger management and substance abuse classes.

A judge also granted a permanent no-contact order for Robert Jr.’s ex-wife, Alexiana Smokoff, who filed for divorce on Nov. 24, 2025 after three years of marriage.

The 23-year-old, who has publicly struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, was arrested on Nov. 9, 2025 after he was involved in an incident involving Smokoff and his father-in-law, Shad Stoke.

He was charged with violation of a pretrial protective order, criminal trespassing, property damage/destruction, assault on peace officer or military member in uniform and failure to stop at the command of law enforcement.
