Melania! Melania! Melania!
The new documentary “Melania,” about the first lady Melania Trump, premiered at the Kennedy Center on Thursday in advance of a wide release on Friday.
“Not since ‘The Terminator’ has there been this much excitement for a movie about a European cyborg,” Jimmy Kimmel said.
“Among the luminaries in attendance were Beyoncé, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga — oh, no wait, it was Dr. Phil and Waka Flocka Flame.” — JIMMY KIMMEL
“In addition to President Cecil B. DeWindmill, the guest list included disgraced former New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Dr. Oz, Todd and Julie Chrisley, RFK — it was either a movie premiere or Season 35 of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’” — JIMMY KIMMEL
“The premiere was attended by members of the administration, like Pam Bondi, Pete Hegseth, Kristi Noem, RFK Jr., and Kash Patel, as well as several former N.F.L. players and U.F.C. fighters, which means a bunch of people with brain damage sat next to N.F.L. players and U.F.C. fighters.” — STEPHEN COLBERT
“There were premiere events in over two dozen cities including Phoenix, Detroit and Kansas City or, as Melania calls them, ‘No, thank you.’” — STEPHEN COLBERT
“That’s a big splashy debut for a documentary about a first lady whose signature achievement is ‘hat.’” — STEPHEN COLBERT
The Punchiest Punchlines (Even More Melania Edition)
“Well, guys, the weekend’s almost here, and it’s going to be a big one for movies. Yeah, you got the Melania documentary, and you have the new Rachel McAdams film, ‘Send Help,’ which, fun fact, was actually the original title of the Melania movie.” — JIMMY FALLON
“That’s right, tonight was the official premiere of the Melania documentary at the Kennedy Center. Right now Trump is encouraging everyone to see it in IMAX so his hands look regular size.” — JIMMY FALLON
“That’s right, President Trump attended the premiere of first lady Melania Trump’s documentary, ‘Melania.’ And he would have applauded, but these things are hanging on by a thread.” — SETH MEYERS, referring to Trump’s hands
“But critics are saying the film isn’t great. I’m not saying it’s bad, but after the movie, Trump took his name off the Kennedy Center.” — JIMMY FALLON
“But whatever else this is, they made a real movie. They even got director Brett Ratner, who you might know from ‘Rush Hour,’ or the #MeToo movement.” — DESI LYDIC
