Republicans have reportedly spent tens of thousands of dollars on hair and makeup services, according to reports Wednesday.
Federal campaign finance records have revealed that the Republican National Committee spent more than $59,000 between April and November on “media preparation” paid to two makeup artists, NOTUS reported.
Much of that amount — $53,850 — was paid to hair and makeup artist Brittany Goetz, according to NOTUS. Goetz started working with the RNC in the summer of 2025 and has previously worked for Fox News. She reportedly has done makeup for White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and other GOP officials in now-unpublished social media photos.
The move to boost hair and makeup service spending comes as the Trump administration has appeared to emphasize its cabinet being camera-ready and amid questions over President Donald Trump using makeup to cover up his bruises and Vanity Fair’s extreme closeups of Leavitt’s lip injections, The Daily Beast reported.
“Trump administration officials are omnipresent on TV and social networks, and are frequently the subject of high-profile media appearances, such as Trump administration portraits taken for a Vanity Fair photo shoot,” NOTUS reported.
“It is not illegal, or even unusual, for national political committees to spend money on cosmetic services,” according to the outlet.
In 2023, former RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel spent $17,000 on hair and makeup services, part of the political committee’s nearly $100,000 it had paid to beauty services since 2017.
