Minneapolis remained on edge Sunday morning as more details emerged about the third shooting involving federal immigration personnel in the city this month. Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse, was shot and killed during an altercation with U.S. Border Patrol agents on Saturday morning, state and federal officials said, but they offered starkly different accounts of the incident. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi L. Noem defended the actions of the agent, casting Pretti as a “domestic terrorist” who posed a threat. A Washington Post analysis of videos that captured the incident from several angles found that federal agents removed a handgun from Pretti’s back near his waistband moments before he was shot multiple times.
