Derek Jeter and 50 Cent bring the NYC energy to Miami at starry padel tournament: Mark Wahlberg, Jimmy Butler and more

From NYC to Miami.

Derek Jeter and 50 Cent were spotted catching up at Wayne Boich’s starry Reserve Cup Miami 2026 padel tournament Thursday, an insider exclusively tells Page Six.

We hear the longtime friends were seen “laughing, catching up and joking about the good times” while hanging backstage ahead of the rapper’s performance.

“It felt less like a padel tournament kickoff and more like Madison Square Garden energy, just without the cold,” the source recalls.

Fiddy, 50, notably hails from Queens, while Jeter, 51, played for the New York Yankees for the entirety of his 20-year MLB career.

Jeter and NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler, who are team captains for the competition, saw their matches postponed for the evening after it started raining in the typically sunny coastal-Floridian city.

Despite the bad weather, the “P.I.M.P.” artist decided to go ahead with his performance for the Opening Night Post-Match Party, presented by Hard Rock Bet.

“50 grabbed the mic and made it clear there was ‘no need to worry,’” the source says, adding that he rapped several hits including “In Da Club,” “Candy Shop,” “Big Rich Town” and “Just a Lil Bit.”

He also gave a shout-out to Mark Wahlberg, who was in attendance and spotted hanging with the retired Yankee.

Earlier in the night, guests explored the luxury Fan Village, complete with a Dorsia caviar cart and bites and beverages by The Joyce, Miami Slice and Big Face Coffee. The exclusive Reserve Club, a VIP lounge with prime seating, had a culinary program by Groot Hospitality.

“Nobody was pretending they weren’t bummed about the cancellation,” a second spy said. “But instead of letting the weather win, they turned it into a celebration for padel, for the players, and for Reserve Cup.”

The second source described the kick-off’s vibe as “high, loud, and unapologetically Miami with the perfect amount of 50 Cent.”

“This year’s Reserve Cup represents a meaningful step forward,” Boich said in a statement obtained by Page Six. “From the level of competition on court to how fans experience the weekend, every element has been elevated — including an expanded and refined Reserve Fan Village that builds on last year’s success.”

This year’s edition — which takes place from Jan. 22 to Jan. 24 — will showcase the world’s top-ranked padel players, including Arturo Coello, Agustín Tapia, Alejandro Galán, Federico Chingotto, Miguel Yanguas, Javier Garrido, and Javier Leal.

The winner will take home the coveted Reserve Cup trophy as well as $600,000 in prize money.
