Nothing is safe from Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing “It Ends With Us” drama.
Lively reportedly threw shade at “Gossip Girl,” the hit teen drama that helped make her famous, in a batch of newly released text messages between her and fellow “It Ends With Us” star Brandon Skelnar, according to Us Weekly.
The string of texts from May 2024 through August 2024 began with a focus on the post-production schedule of “It Ends With Us” ahead of the film’s release on Aug. 9 of that year.

As Lively and Skelnar’s conversation progressed, however, they started to discuss whether Skelnar would be able to juggle promoting “It Ends With Us” while also filming the second season of the popular “Yellowstone” prequel series “1923” at the same time.
“I hope your show gives you space to hustle,” Lively, 38, wrote in one alleged message obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday. “Especially once ‘It’ comes out, week 2 will be a time that it will get especially heated for you. Just something to think about and maximize.”
“I’m working on it,” Skelnar, 35, added. “They are particularly s—ty about that. But I’m gonna do everything I can to make it happen. It would be a crime to not ride that momentum.”
After encouraging Skelnar to get his agent “on that” to make sure he could find time to help promote “It Ends With Us,” Lively went on to recall how the “Gossip Girl” production team was “s—ty” about letting her make time for other projects.

“As someone who’s show kept me from every opportunity outside of it, I look back now and see how s—ty that was and how I could’ve (along [with] my team) pushed harder to make space for the few moments I needed during production to honor the work I did outside of it,” she wrote in one alleged message from May 2024.
Lively starred as Serena van der Woodsen on “Gossip Girl” for all six seasons from The CW show’s premiere in 2007 until its finale in 2012.
“They feel like you owe them, so they tend to attempt to dim your light so you don’t outgrow them,” she continued, per Us Weekly. “And it has the opposite effect than they intend. It makes you resent them and wanna get out.”
“If they just made space for you to do the work you needed in a way that worked for everyone you would be indebted and grateful,” Lively added. “At least that was my experience on my show, it was all of ours.”
Skelnar, meanwhile, said that he couldn’t wait to finish filming Season 2 of “1923” because it “was only meant to be the 8 [episodes] and they added 7 more as soon as we started the first 8.”

“No more shows after this,” the “Housemaid” actor reportedly wrote. “That’s for damn sure.”
Then, hours later, Skelnar texted Lively once more to let her know that he would be able to promote “It Ends With Us” for three days in Texas that August.
“If you’re going back to [Los Angeles] you can ride with me and my baby boy,” the “A Simple Favor” star offered in response.
Reps for Lively and Skelnar did not immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.
Skelnar is just the latest celebrity dragged into the ugly legal battle between Lively and Baldoni, which began back in Dec. 2024 when the actress filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department alleging sexual harassment and a smear campaign by her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director.
Jameela Jamil called the “Gossip Girl” alum a “suicide bomber” and a “villain” in 2024 texts to a publicist obtained via court docs by the Daily Mail on Thursday.

Page Six also obtained texts between Lively and Taylor Swift, again from 2024, that revealed the “Opalite” hitmaker star felt distanced from Lively as the legal battle intensified.
While Swift labeled Baldoni a “bitch” with a “tiny violin” in the messages, sources told Page Six that the pop superstar hasn’t had contact with Lively since around the time of their text exchange.
Baldoni, meanwhile, has denied the allegations against him and filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. However, a judge threw that countersuit out in June 2025.
The lawsuit between Lively and Baldoni is scheduled to go to trial on May 18, 2026.
