Brooklyn Beckham is setting the record straight on where he stands with his famous family.
The eldest son of Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham and soccer legend David Beckham, Brooklyn, shared a lengthy Instagram statement on Monday that shared how he feels about what he described as his parents’ lack of support for his marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham.
“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” Brooklyn wrote. “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”
Representatives for David and Victoria Beckham, and for Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham, did not respond to a request for comment.
