Reacting to a new motion from the Department of Justice to dismiss a request for an independent monitor to oversee the release of Jeffrey Epstein Files, the panel on MS NOW’s “Morning Joe” once again posed the question of who Attorney General Pam Bondi is protecting.
A month after the deadline, mandated by law, to release the files, little progress is being made, which is once again raising suspicions.
Those suspicions were articulated by co-host Joe Scarborough on Tuesday morning as he bluntly asked, “Who is the DOJ protecting?”
“The question is who is the Trump administration protecting? Why, why why are they breaking the law?” he asked before continuing, “They [the DOJ] handed out binders filled with nothingness the first week of the Trump administration. Pam Bondi said she had the Epstein file list on her desk, the first week, had it on her desk. But it’s just delay after delay after delay, and then Congress passes the Epstein Transparency Act — only one dissenter in the House — and a month later, they still have released what, maybe 1% of those? Who is the Trump administration protecting?”
“Who is behind all of those redactions? What names? Why? Why do you continue to break the law every day and not release the Epstein files? What are you trying to hide?” he ranted.
“Are you not curious?” he asked co-host Mika Brzezinski.
”I mean, I am curious,” she replied. “Pam Bondi actually seemed very proud to have the information. I mean, I am curious. Pam Bondi actually seemed very proud to have the information.
”“What are they hiding? “Scarborough repeated. “I don’t understand, and I’m serious. This is like, I’m like Tom Hanks and [the movie] ‘Big,’ and I’m looking at the toy. And I was like, ‘I don’t get it. I don’t get it.’ Except here we’re talking about what supporters of Donald Trump have long said is the biggest pedophile ring in American history. So the question is, why is the DOJ, why is the Trump administration, why is the White House continuing to drag their feet? Who are they protecting?”
