A dead man was discovered floating in the Harlem River on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
Police received a 911 call just after 2:40 p.m. about an individual who needed help around the FDR Drive and East 106th Street in East Harlem, according to the NYPD.

Cops arrived at the scene and made the grim discovery of an unconscious, unidentified man floating in the water of the Harlem River nearby, police said.
The individual was pronounced dead by officials at the scene, authorities added.
It’s not immediately clear how the man ended up in the river or how long he had been floating.

His identity has not yet been released, and the city’s Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death, according to police.
The incident remains under investigation.
