Trump demands Greenland for U.S., warns Russia and China will take it otherwise

President Donald Trump demanded that Greenland be placed under U.S. control, claiming the Arctic island is essential for national security and accusing NATO of failing to act. Trump warned that if the U.S. doesn’t take Greenland, Russia or China will, and dismissed the territory’s prime minister after he reaffirmed Greenland’s desire to remain part of Denmark. The president has repeatedly pushed to acquire Greenland since 2019, framing it as critical to U.S. military power and strategic dominance.
