It’s awards season — the time of year when major film, TV and music ceremonies, such as the Golden Globes, which was held on Sunday, recognize the past year’s most notable work.
Do you watch awards shows? If so, what do you like about them? Maybe you enjoy the comedic hosts, the red carpet looks, the winning speeches or the celebration of the arts in general. If you don’t watch, why not? Why do you think fewer young people have been tuning into the ceremonies, and what could be done to win them back?
If you like, make your own nominations for this year’s entertainment awards: What were the best movies and TV shows you watched this past year? Who had the best performances? What songs, artists and podcasts did you most enjoy?
Tell us in the comments, and then see the full list of Golden Globes winners and read more about the best and worst moments of the night.
Students 13 and older in the United States and Britain, and 16 and older elsewhere, are invited to comment. All comments are moderated by the Learning Network staff, but please keep in mind that once your comment is accepted, it will be made public and may appear in print.
