Top Trump aide throws Hollywood tantrum after celebs attack at Golden Globes

A top aide to President Donald Trump threw a tantrum about Hollywood Monday after several celebrities took an anti-ICE stance at the 2026 Golden Globes.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung melted down over the attacks from several notable entertainment stars, including actor and activist Mark Ruffalo.

Cheung issued a bizarre attack on Ruffalo, a vocal Trump administration and ICE critic, after he called the president “the worst human being.”

“Poor thing Mark Ruffalo, star of She-Hulk, is one of the worst actors in the business. More impressively, he’s an even worse human being by spewing outright lies because deep down inside, he hates himself for knowingly subjecting the public to his god awful performance,” Cheung wrote on X.

Ruffalo, who was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series, Drama, for his role in “Task,” was among several actors wearing a “Be Good” and “ICE Out” pins on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Sunday night. He spoke out about the killing of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, the 37-year-old mother gunned down while driving by reported ICE agent Jonathan Ross.

“This is for Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered,” Ruffalo told USA TODAY during a red carpet interview. “We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded. He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality, but the guy is a convicted felon.”

“He’s the worst human being. If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.”

“So this is for her,” Ruffalo said. “This is for the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today. I know I’m one of them. I love this country. And what I’m seeing here happening is not America.”

Other celebrities, including comedian Wanda Sykes, Ariana Grande, Natasha Lyonne and Jean Smart, also wore the pins to memorialize Good and symbolize protest of the Trump administration’s harsh immigration policies.
