Elon Musk said he plans to file for full custody of his 1-year-old son on Monday after his baby mama Ashley St. Claircame out in support of the transgender community.
The billionaire Tesla mogul indicated he’d be seeking custody of the child he fathered with the conservative influencer after she apparently shifted her trans views.
“I will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy,” Musk fired off in an X post as he replied to a follower’s comment early Monday.
It isn’t clear if St. Clair has ever indicated that she would allow her son to undergo a transition.

She did, however, recently apologize on social media for prior remarks she has made about trans people in general.
St. Clair sensationally revealed early last year that she had given birth to Musk’s 13th child.
Prior to her bombshell revelation, St. Clair was known as a right-wing culture warrior on X with sassy conservative takes.
Musk’s child custody vow came after an X user had urged him to seek full care of his son.

The social media user pointed specifically to an apology St. Clair gave over the weekend about her prior trans views.
“I feel immense guilt for my role,” she said in response to an X user accusing her of “blatant transphobia” in the past.
“And even more guilt that things I have said in the past may have caused my son’s sister more pain. [I don’t really know] how to make amends for many of these things but I have been trying incredibly hard privately to learn + advocate for those within the trans community that I’ve hurt.”
One of Musk’s other children, Vivian, came out as transgender in 2022.
“I also haven’t said much on this [because] I have gone back and forth over whether my voice would be helpful on the issue since it will be framed as disingenuous or just turning [because] I’m ‘scorned’,” St. Clair said.
“Even this reply will become right wing hysteria but yeah I am sorry. Let me know how I can help.”
